Cosmos Mainnet is Live

Cosmos (ATOM), a highly anticipated blockchain designed to improve the interoperability between blockchains, has officially launched its Mainnet.

The first phase of today's Cosmos network launch comes after nearly three years of planning and development

However, Cosmos users are not allowed to transfer their holdings of ATOM tokens just yet.

As warned in an official blog post:

"The existing tools require advanced technical skills and involve risks which are outside of the control of the Interchain Foundation and/or the Tendermint team. … Please exercise extreme caution!"

New York Times Posts and then Removes 'Blockchain Exploration' Job Listing

News publication New York Times listed an opening for "Lead, Blockchain Exploration" on job searching site Glassdoor.

The listing emphasizes that applicants should have a strong understanding of how the NYT positions itself within the rapidly changing media technology landscape.

The NYT's description further clarifies that the position is to be a temporary role, with an expected term of 12 months.

☕ Litecoin Halving : Explained ⚡⚡

The next Litecoin Halving is set to happen in less than 5 months time. Or more accurately, at Block #1,680,000.

This will be the third time Litecoin undergoes a Halving. The last time a Litecoin Halving happened was on August 25th 2015, when Litecoin block reward fell from 50 LTC to the current 25 LTC.

But wait, What is Litecoin Halving?

As the name suggests, Litecoin Halving is the event where the number of generated LTC rewards per block will be halved (divided by 2).

Litecoin Halving will occur every 840,000 blocks. Meaning the rewards will continue to halve as time goes by and making new coins more and more scarce.

It is estimated that the "last" Litecoin will be mined sometime in 2142, at which point the rewards would have reduced to 0.00000042 per block.
