Japan's largest gift card exchange plans to use blockchain to spur its next phase of growth.

The exchange plans to scale its operations internationally using Aelf's (ELF) enterprise-oriented blockchain platform.

By converting gift cards to digital assets managed by Aelf's platform, the firm looks to "revolutionize the way gift cards are issued, purchased and exchanged."

Whale Alert, a service dedicated to tracking major cryptocurrency transactions, has announced a second version of its platform is in development.

"Whale Alert v2 will include improvements to our website and API, better fraud and hacks tracking and an improved explorer spanning all block chains.." - the website said

The new version will reportedly be operation by Q4 2019.

🧭 Crypto forefather David Chaum will issue new digital currency

David Chaum, the inventor of Ecash, is launching a new digital currency dubbed Praxxis.

In an interview, Chaum said that Praxxis will have the security, speed, and scalability "to grow into a replacement of physical cash".

For now, the technical details behind Praxxis are sparse, but the white paper is said to be released later this year.

📱 Huobi Includes MakerDao and Compound Support

Huobi is expanding its presence in decentralized finance (DeFi) to include support for MakerDao (MKR) and Compound Dapps.

The Dapps serve as "market-makers" by allowing borrowers to take out liquid loans against a pool of assets.

Huobi Wallet will also support cTokerns such as cDai (cDAI).
