🛡️ Twitter's Jack kickstarts BlueSky, to develop decentralized social media protocol

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has revealed that Twitter is funding a dedicated team to develop a decentralized standard for social media.

Dorsey set forth a number of challenges social media networks face in their operations and address new challenges centralized solutions are struggling to meet.

To address these challenges, Dorsey suggested the creation of a decentralized standard for social media.

The team, "Bluesky" is tasked to to "either find an existing decentralized standard they can help move forward, or failing that, create one from scratch."

📚 Kraken adds Tezos Staking as a Service (SaaS)

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is launching support for Tezos (XTZ) staking, according to an announcement by the team.

To begin staking XTZ, users only have to transfer their tezzies from their Spot Wallet into their Kraken Staking Wallet.

Those users who stake XTZ will reportedly receive a 6% return annually, with payouts happening every Monday and Thursday.

💎 BitMEX adds native SegWit support for bitcoin withdrawals

BitMEX has added support for native SegWit (bech32) addresses for bitcoin withdrawals, helping users save on transaction fees.

However, as of now, SegWit transfers are only currently enabled for bitcoin withdrawals and not deposits.

"SegWit can result in significant blockweight savings of around 25% to 40%, however in the case of BitMEX, the savings will be even higher. BitMEX would benefit from a blockweight saving of around 65% by adopting SegWit," said the exchange.
