BCH, The Day After: Two Hour Blocks, Hash Rate Hit

Fork.lol shows a 60% fall in the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network hash rate from 4.36 EH/s yesterday to 1.6 EH/s at the time of writing (using a 12 hour average).

Coinwarz shows it falling from 3.9944 EH/s to 2.4595 EH/s.

Notably, it took the network 2 hours to mine block 630,001 immediately after the halving event occured.

At press time, 72 blocks were mined on the BCH blockchain since the halving almost 24 hours ago.

Hacker steals $250,000 from crypto exchange Bisq

Decentralized cryptocurrency exchange, Bisq who abruptly halted the trading due to critical vulnerability recently, announced that it had been hacked.

The hack has cost them 3 BTC and 4000 XMR (~ $250,000) and it affected 7 different victims.

The only affected market was XMR/BTC market, and the trades occurred over the past 12 days. It was reported these victims had an active trade in the said market.

Bisq plans to repay the victims from future trading revenues by creating a smart contract in the called "Bisq DAO".

Bitcoin Backed 'tzBTC' launches on the Tezos blockchain

A group of Switzerland crypto firms partnered to launch a Bitcoin token on Tezos (XTZ) blockchain, tzBTC by backing 1:1 to Bitcoin. The aim of tzBTC is to make Bitcoin more accessible.

Users will deposit their Bitcoin as a collateral via four "keyholders", who are the designated four crypto firms and different "gatekeepers", who will mint the tzBTC for the users.

Currently, tzBTC is yet to be integrated into any Decentralized Applications.
