⚠️ Bithumb hacked; but users funds are safe according exchange

South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb has had around $13 million in the EOS cryptocurrency stolen in a hack it suspects was an insider job.

However, Bithumb stated that "All the [stolen] cryptocurrency is owned by the company, and all members' assets are under the protection of a cold wallet."

It was reported that over 3 million EOS and 20 XRP tokens had be involved in the hack.

❌ OmiseGo Denies Acquisition by Thailand Private Company

Hasegawa Jun, the founder of Omise (OMG) denied the recent acquisition rumors by the biggest private firm in Thailand.

On March 29, a news outlet reported that Omise was acquired for $150M USD, however,the company refuted the rumor in a public tweet.

⚡💳 Russian Social Media VK aims to launch own Cryptocurrency

The Russian Equivalent of Facebook, VKontakte (VK) is considering to develop its own cryptocurrency.

The cryptocurrency can be transferred between users, exchanged for goods and converted (presumably to fiat currency) via VK Pay, VK's own payment system.

VKontakte's founder, Pavel Durov also co-founded messaging platform Telegram, which is aiming to build its own blockchain network.
