🛑 U.S. Lawmakers Are Realizing They Can't Ban Bitcoin

US Senator Michael Dean Crapo has stated US can't ban bitcoin (BTC) due to its global nature during a Congressional Hearing.

"if the United States were to decide [to ban Bitcoin],I'm pretty confident we couldn't succeed in doing that because this is a global innovation," - he said.

According to economist and bitcoiner Saifedean Ammous, the most efficient way for governments to kill Bitcoin would be to compete with it.

🔨 SEC is planning to run Cryptocurrency Nodes

The United States Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) is planning to run bitcoin and ethereum (ETH) nodes through a contractor.

According to the Commission the effort is "to support its efforts to monitor risk, improve compliance, and inform Commission policy with respect to digital assets."

The SEC has also expressed interest to run "as many as possible" of other blockchains, including Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Stellar (XLM), Zcash (ZEC), EOS (EOS), NEO (NEO), and XRP Ledger (XRP).

According to the companies, fans of the game can buy, sell, and trade digitally collectable in-season moves.

NBA Top Shot Collectibles is set to launch this fall in time for the NBA's regular-season tip-off, with the full game going live in early 2020.

Bitcoin, so hot right now..

While preparing for the Q2 2019 report, our research team noticed that the search term for "Bitcoin" on Google Trends finally surpassed that of "Stocks".

The last time this happened was the run up to Bitcoin ATH back in late December 2017.

While this is in no way the leading indicator for a crypto bull run, it does serve an interesting litmus for public interest in the industry.
