📸 Decentralized lending platform Dharma pauses new deposits and loans

Dharma has announced via Twitter that it is "pausing new deposits and loans" on its platform.

More recently, Dharma experienced what it claims to be a "front-end software bug" in its application that caused withdrawals to be frozen.

According to analytics firm LoanScan, Dharma has seen zero loans originating from its protocol since late-July.

📝 Report: Around 300 Addresses Contain 80% of Tether Supply

Research firm Coin Metrics says that 318 addresses hold at least $1 million worth of Tether (USDT), comprising 80% of the global Tether supply.

In contrast, bitcoin's wallet distribution shows whales apparently hold only around 20% of the total token supply.

Individual addresses does not correlate to a single person or entity, and the pseudonymous nature of cryptocurrencies means we'll never who many (or little) whales are actually out there.

😱 More details emerge regarding Binance KYC leak

An individual operating under the pseudonym "Bnatov Platon" had a month-long conversation with CoinDesk reporters prior the the KYC leak event.

Binance's current stance of the incident is that the claims are "fear, uncertainty, and doubt".

Here some key points from CoinDesk's exposé:
  • At least two leaked profiles have been confirmed to be real.
  • Platon claims they have 60,000 pieces of KYC information in his collection.
  • He claimed that this leak is related to Binance's May hack.
  • Platon is not the hacker behind the May hack, though he claims to have information regarding the May hack.
  • The hack was in part, aided by an insider.
  • Analysis suggested the hack to be an API key attack.
  • Platon also contacted Binance's staff to negotiate a bounty.
  • Negotiation broke down and Platon is longer dealing with Binance.
