🍃 Bitcoin Is Using Less Energy Despite Record Hash Rate

Data aggregator Statista showed that despite more computing power being dedicated to Bitcoin (BTC) mining, less electricity is required to fuel it.

According to a chart, Bitcoin mining consumed an estimated 71.12 Terawatt hours per year in July'18 but only 69.79 Terwatt hours per year by July'19.

The energy reduction occurred despite hash rate increasing by 50% within the same time frame.

🎵 K-Pop Music Giant is Planning Its Own Cryptocurrency

K-pop talent agency, SM Entertainment, is planning to build its own blockchain network with a native cryptocurrency.

Joo Sang-sik, director of the company's technology arm, CT-AI Labs, made the announcement at the Upbit Developer Conference in Incheon.

the firm aims to make use of the concepts of both public and private blockchains and is currently talking to potential partners to build the network.

SM Entertainment is listed on the Korean stock exchange and has a market capitalization of roughly $600 million.

📱 Samsung Launching a Galaxy Note 10 Crypto-Phone Edition

According to sources familiar with the issue, the latest edition of Samsung's new Galaxy Note 10 will feature a cryptowallet with pre-airdropped coins.

Korean Tech Giant Kakao Corp. will issue its affiliate cryptocurrency direct to Samsung smartphone users.

The new product, however, will only be for sale on the Samsung's native South Korean market.
