🧐 Binance to help Ukraine authorities establish cryptocurrency legislation by 2019 📜

Binance has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to jointly work on the legal status of cryptocurrencies in the country.

Under this agreement, the strategy of blockchain implementations and creation of "new virtual assets and virtual currencies market in Ukraine" will the focus for the working group formed by the Ministry and Binance.

Prior to this announcement, MP Oleksii Zhmerenetskyi announced that the legislation is near completion, and released three bills to regulate cryptocurrency in the country.

⛏️ Cryptocurrency Mining goes on in China! 🟢

On the note of a positive development, China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has just announced that Cryptocurrency Mining is now removed from the list of activities to "eliminate".

Back in April, NDRC put out a draft proposal which recommended local governments to eliminate the crypto mining industry from China.

Just last month, China's President Xi Jinping publicly supported the blockchain tech, and said that the nation should take the leading position in its development.

👀 Hong Kong's Securities Commission publishes position on Crypto Exchange 🚦

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced that it will be treating crypto exchanges as security brokers and automated trading venues.

SFC will regulate only centralized crypto exchanges at the moment. Some of SFC's requirement include regulated customer base, earnings report, funds storage policy, insurance as well as KYC/AML procedures for a licensed crypto exchange.

Earlier, the SFC also published it's position on futures exchanges, stating that there are no licensed virtual asset futures contracts to date. BitMEX and OKEx has already restricted access to their products in Hong Kong.
