📱 Thai Bank Launches Cross Border Payment App Powered by Ripple

Thailand's oldest bank Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has partnered with Ripple to create a mobile app to deliver instant, low-cost cross-border payments.

the app, called SCB Easy, was demoed in December during Ripple's annual customer event, Swell.

SCB is also working with Ripple to offer cross-border EMVCo QR payments, which is popular across Asia.

🏭 A Russian Nuclear Plant Is Renting Space to Bitcoin Miners

A state-owned nuclear power plant in Russia may soon fuel a bitcoin mining hub.

Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation recently opened a mining farm near the Kalinin nuclear plant in Udomlya, 200 miles northwest of Moscow.

Rosatom is the first big government-related entity to embrace miners in Russia, with plans to eventually open 240 megawatts or more of its power from several locations to the industry.

🧸 Bitmain cancels operation partnership for its Texas mining farm

Bitmain and DMG Blockchain have canceled an agreement that designated the latter as the operator of the former's mining facility in Texas

DMG Blockchain said the deal in Texas was canceled because of failure to materialize "cost and operational efficiencies".

Both parties however stated that they will continue to explore other collaboration opportunities.
