Bitcoin-Based Payment Facilitator Purse.io Shuts Down

Bitcoin-based Amazon payment facilitator, Purse.io, decided to exit the market after six years offering a discount to Amazon shoppers who pay with Bitcoin.

Purse.io has shut off its sign-up feature on April 16 and it's "shop and earn" features close on April 23.

Shoppers' ongoing orders and withdrawals remain open until June 26, 2020. It will also terminate all unmatched open orders and permanently shut down on June 26.

First Loan Ever Issued With Ethereum Domain Name as Collateral

Rocket LP DAO, a loan provider, has issued a 90-day $1,000 ETH loan that is backed by only an Ethereum Domain Name (ENS), brantly.eth.

Using the ENS as a collateral, Rocket has become the temporary owner of the ENS domain name.

If the loan default, Rocket will have the permanent ownership of the domain name and has the right to remove the owner's access completely.

Binance is launching a new Ethereum-compatible blockchain

Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange is launching a new EVM-compatible blockchain "Binance Smart Chain" (BSC).

BSC's native token would be BNB, allowing holders of the token to participate in staking and earn rewards.

Binance further said that the BSC will support all of the existing Ethereum tooling along with faster and cheaper transactions.

Block Explorer

Block explorer refers to application or websites which display information and status of transactions of a given public blockchain network.

They usually do this by running their own nodes (they become part of the network), and then index information that may be relevant to the users.

This opens up access to the data of a blockchain and allows regular users to look at progress of transactions or verify that a transaction has occurred without needing to run a node themselves.
