The second edition of the virtual blockchain conference BlockDown is set for liftoff this Thursday, featuring big-name speakers, announcements, and networking opportunities for the blockchain and crypto community. The event will be broadcast in 2D and 3D, to ensure easy access, with the 3D world being very similar to computer game The Sims. After registering users can create their avatar before sending them into the virtual conference hall on Thursday, to watch, listen, and engage with the blockchain world’s brightest stars. Big namesThere will be big-name speakers, visionaries and leaders from the blockchain world, and organizers have secured roundtables with global software businesses IBM and Oracle. Mark Rakhmilevich, senior director of blockchain product management at Oracle, will host a roundtable “Lessons from Blockchain Cloud PaaS implementations in Financial Services and Supply Chain projects: Progress and Challenges,” while Julian Sevillano, senior advisor at IBM’s Promontory Financial Group will host a roundtable discussion on regulation and compliance in the blockchain space. Other roundtables will focus on decentralized finance, enterprise blockchain, blockchain games, and empowering African countries with blockchain solutions. InsightsIn what promises to be an interesting insight, David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple will participate in a 1-2-1 fireside chat to discuss what he’s been working on this year, and give a glimpse of what the business has planned for the rest of 2020. Changpeng Zhao, CEO, and Founder of Binance, will take part in a fireside chat with Michael Casey to discuss the future of his exchange, and offer a look into what his business has been working on. Other speakers at the event include Brock Pierce, Founder and Chairman of Integro Foundation, Rune Christensen, Co-founder of MakerDAO, Alex Mashinsky, CEO of Celsius Network, leading crypto YouTuber Nicholas Merten (AKA Datadash), and many more.
