Iran-backed Houthis opened a new front, U.S. ground troops arrived in the region, and Iran attacked two aluminum facilities — sending metal prices up 6% and extending the war's economic damage beyond oil. Brent crude hit $115 a barrel, up roughly 90% year-to-date. Bitcoin briefly fell to $65,112, its lowest since the February crash, before Asian markets opened and buyers stepped in. With BTC around $67,000, that's a $19,000 loss per coin. The industry's response: over $70 billion in AI and high-performance computing contracts have been signed, and some miners could derive up to 70% of revenue from AI by end-2026. Publicly listed miners have collectively sold over 15,000 BTC from peak holdings to fund the transition.
